Rains 4-H Scholarship Points Sheet

The Rains County 4-H Scholarship is available to eligible graduating 4-H members. Scholarships are awarded based on a point system with points earned starting a member's freshman (9th grade) year through their senior (12th grade) year.

Each year, members must submit a completed point sheet. A point sheet should be turned in at the end of each school year beginning with the member’s freshman year. It will be put in the newsletter and announced at the meetings. A member may not go back and turn in a sheet for the previous year after the deadline.

To qualify for a scholarship, you must have a minimum of 150 points accumulated from the beginning of your freshman year through your graduation date.

Points Qualification Scale

150 – 250 points $500.00

251 – 349 points $750.00

350 or more points $1,000.00

These are the recommended point accumulations for the 4-H member to qualify to apply for a Rains 4-H Scholarship. However, qualifications do not guarantee you will be awarded a scholarship. Several other factors will be considered by the Scholarship Committee to determine if the 4-H member is awarded a scholarship. The scholarship committee's decision is FINAL.

The scholarship quantity and award amount will vary each year depending on available funds and number of applicants.

Scholarship applicants must be in good standing with Rains County 4-H at the time the application is submitted their senior year. They should also be of high moral standards and character, which includes behavior in school and the community. The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to reject an application if they feel as though the above requirement has not been met.
